There are two types of painted kitchen finishes, there’s the spray finish which has a nice contemporary look and then there’s the classic hand-painted kitchen finish.

Most kitchen painters would have used oil or spirit-based paint when painting kitchens but since the change to the VOC levels in paint, oil-based paint just isn’t as good as it used to be. On the flip side though water-based paints are a lot better these days and when used properly can give a great finish to your kitchen cabinets.
Another great benefit for kitchen painters using water-based paints is that we can get more work done in the day. With oil-based paint you could only ever really apply one coat a day but with water-based paint we can apply 2 coats in a day. Water-based paint is usually touch dry within an hour and doesn’t have the same fumes as oil-based paint, which is great news for us kitchen painters and you too!
